Giovanni spent the first half of his childhood in Southern Italy in a small town near Naples, and the second half outside of Turin in northern Italy.  He developed a passion for cooking from his mother, studied at an istituto professionale, and apprenticed in a variety of pizzerias and restaurants near Torino.  He is a master pizzaiolo, and familiar with regional cuisines from many areas of Italy; furthermore, he is passionate about Italian coffee and pastries. He has worked in the US at several fine Italian restaurants, and recently was proud to become an American citizen.

Jenny is a native of Rhode Island, with family in Southern Italy.  She has a degree in Italian from URI, and has been a teacher of Italian at Classical High School in Providence, and The University of Rhode Island, for over 15 years.

For us, the Italian traditions permeate all aspects of life. We love bringing the idea of the Italian “tavola” to friends and family - preparing an abundance of dishes that attract people to be together, to eat, to share an experience, and to linger, chat, and laugh.

We live in Providence with our five children - Oliver, Max, Nico, Simone and Genevra.

Grazie,
Gio & Jenny Marzano
